Celebrating 40 years in Business

About Us

In The Community

Shleppers gives back. Caring for the community is part of who we are, as a company and as New Yorkers. Our city has some of the greatest attractions in the world, but we’ve also had some of the greatest disasters. Throughout it all, New Yorkers have come together to face the challenge head on. Shleppers will always be there, proudly doing our part. Here’s what we’ve been up to lately:

Operation Santa

Operation Santa

Operation Santa is a very special program coordinated by Community Mayors, Inc to bring holiday joy to children with disabilities. Shleppers has proudly provided trucks, volunteers and logistical support to Operation Santa for 11 years in a row.

This year was particularly wonderful: over 4,000 kids were on site at JFK airport, bursting with excitement as Santa arrived on a Delta jet. The kids were smiling and full of joy as they received a gift from Santa – truly one of the best sights of the season.

We were very happy to shlep the presents for Santa so the reindeer can be well rested for Christmas Eve – and look forward to doing this again next year!

WJCS Kids Kloset Fashion Show

Kids Kloset provides diapers, underwear, socks and other clothing items for children in need. They needed a truck and driver to collect donated items throughout the city in time for their annual event, the WJCS Kids Kloset Fashion Show. Shleppers was happy to do so!

Schlep run

The NYC 5K Schlep Run/Walk for Breast and Ovarian Cancer

For the second year in a row, Shleppers proudly participated in the Cheryl Diamond NYC 5K Schlep. This race is a fundraiser for breast and ovarian cancer research. Breast cancer affects 1 in 8 women nationwide, and 1 in 7 women in the Jewish community. We helped by providing help with logistical setup, breakdown and route coordination.

Students Helping Students:
Sleepy Hollow High School’s Response to Hurricane Harvey

Leana Peltier, a science teacher at Sleepy Hollow School, coordinated a team of teachers and students who collected school supplies for Clear Creek High School in Houston, TX, which had been devastated by Hurricane Harvey. The Sleepy Hollow students, many of whom had been impacted in some way by Superstorm Sandy, wrote letters of encouragement and support for their Texan counterparts. Shleppers donated the boxes and shipping supplies used to send the donations to Clear Creek.

Remembering 9/11

Business has never been just about making money. Business is about doing the right thing.

Shleppers provided manpower, trucks and storage space during the initial rescue efforts and subsequent months that followed the tragic disaster of September 11th. This event strengthened and redoubled our commitment to the true partnership that exists between Shleppers and the City of New York.

Our History of Giving Back

Shleppers Moving & Storage is proud to support the Greater New York area’s many non-profit organizations. Some of them are quite near and dear to our hearts, including supporting local initiatives, the American Jewish and Israeli communities, and the larger community as a whole. This list includes many of the groups we’ve supported over the past 30 years:

United Way, American Diabetes Association, Move for Hunger, Keller Williams, The New York Society Library, March of Dimes, Catholic Charities, Park Avenue Methodist Day School, National Multiple Sclerosis Society, UJA Federation, Pass it On, YPO, Central Park Conservancy, AFRMC, ING, Food Bank for NYC, Fare Walk for Food Allergy
